Ishtar Cultral Association

Ishtar Cultural Assocation is an association dedicated to bringing the Chaldean Assyrian Syriac people closer to their Traditions and Cultures. Established in February 2008, the association has provided numerous activities including:

Lectures:
The Ishtar Cultural Association provides many lectures to the Chaldean Assyrian Syriac community regarding anywhere from political to historical topics. Many of these lectures are a great way to connect people from around the world to the Detroit Metropolitan community. Numerous guests have traveled from across the globe to put together wide varieties of lectures for the Chaldean Assyrian Syriac community.

Festivals:
The Ishtar Cultural Association is also a great way to meet people. Recently the Ishtar Cultural Association has focused on new ways of bring people together, and in July 2008 created their first annual Chaldean Assyrian Syriac community picnic located at Halmich park in Warren, MI. Over 1,000 people attended the event, and many more festivals are in store for summer 2009.

Sports:
Along with the Chaldean Assyrian Syriac Annual Festival, the Ishtar Cultural Association has been a great place for sports player to compete. During the annual festival teams from across the country came together to compete in the Chaldean Assyrian Syriac national soccer tournament, consisting of more than ten teams.
Sports
Aramaic Studies:
Ishtar Cultural Association has also provided Aramaic classes for Arabic speaking people with their recent addition of Aramaic classes. Adults can attend weekly classes to learn the language of Christ. University of Detroit Mercy’s Aramaic 100 & Advanced Culture 399 are also examples of classes provided by the Ishtar Cultural Association.
